These NFT candidate images are drawn from my 2020 project Microcopy of the Union Flag. The project is a forensic visual examination of the Union Flag. Utilising progressively greater magnification, the exhibition is a photographic exploration of the physical aspects of the UK’s national flag intended as a reflection on the crisis of national identity in which Britain currently finds itself. The images were created from images sequences captured on a pixel-shift DSLAM camera using a DIY microscope rig using a focus stacking algorithm.
